What is a giclée print?
Giclée (jhee-KLAY) the French word meaning ‘to spray’, refers to the ink-jet technology process used to create fine art reproduction prints. Pigment-based inks, speciality paper, a large-format printer and high image resolution all play a part in making a giclée print.
With four million droplets of ink a second combining to form more than two thousand shades of colour, the resulting print delivers an accurate representation of the original artwork with superior quality and fine detail.
What is a limited edition print?
A limited edition print is a reproduction of the original art which is signed and sequentially numbered. The restricted quantity of copies means limited edition giclée prints appreciate in value over time for their collectors due to their high quality and relative rarity. The value increase is even more notably so as the print-line sells out.
